The theme of Beauty of JAPAN 2026 is "The Elegance of Edo, the Splendor of Tokyo." The event is centered on the aesthetics cultivated by the city of Edo: a beauty that is understated yet profound, designs that reveal different expressions when viewed from afar and when held in the hand, and a refined sense of style that is part of everyday life. Bringing together works centered on Tokyo dyeing and weaving along with renowned textiles from across Japan, the event offers visitors the opportunity to experience kimono as a living culture of today.
■ The World of Tokyo Dyeing: Carrying on the Beauty of Edo
The event will focus on dyed textiles that carry on the traditions of Edo, including Tokyo Yuzen, Edo Komon, Edo Sarasa, and Edo Bingata. We have also prepared works of Nenkin Tsuzure Nishiki, woven with nenkin thread made by wrapping gold leaf around silk floss thread, which combine a rich, luxurious shine with the light texture of silk floss. In addition, we will present a carefully selected collection of Japan's finest textiles, including new furisode (long-sleeved formal kimono), Yonezawa Tsumugi, Oshima Tsumugi, Ryukyu Bingata, Hakata-ori, and Nishijin textiles by Rokumojiya.
In addition to the world of kimono, the event will also feature bags and jewelry to complement your attire, along with collections that enrich your lifestyle.
